Peace of Mine
50 cm X 60 cm X 1,5 cm
Stretched Canvas / Acrylic
My first painting of that year... With the Christmas decorations occupying my working table during the whole month of December and a month of January crazier than ever, I didn't have much time to pay attention to my inspiration. The latest news are worrying and the world badly needs a break.
Carrots Explosion
50 cm X 60 cm X 1,5 cm
Stretched Canvas / Acrylic
What started like an expression of accumulated anger and frustrations in the background gradually evolved into a colourful explosion of joy. Shards of shiny and sparkling moments of life, generated by many sources. The "carrots" only came to my mind on a colder day, while we were making soup. Suddenly, I saw one of them featured on my painting... In my mind, that is...
Melting Moraine

What do you do when you've been a little too generous and squeezed too much blue on your pallet? Waste them? Nah! Let's say you're in the middle of the winter, everybody talks about climate and the poor polar bears... To make you feel even more guilty, kids protest every Thursday, playing hooky to change the climate and save the planet. What I see then, is the extraordinary landscape of the Canadian Rockies. I try to imagine what they were like, long before we started screwing up with the Earth.
Kids Windrose

I have never been a fan of childish drawings on a fridge, although I collect magnets from every city I get the chance to visit, so as to cover the (old, ugly) "once-upon-a-time" white door as much as I can... So this inspired me and I thought it would be nice to have a canvas where I could literally "stick" the annual school pictures of the kids with magnets, without having them going "vintage"... In thirty years from now, I still want to have the most recent pics of my future adult grand kids on the coloured background that once was their individual coat of arms.
Dream of Old Glory
50 cm X 50 cm X 3,5 cm
Stretched Canvas / Acrylic
I was thinking about some Friends... The ones who, like old retired soldiers, regularly dwell on old stories and mentally shoot with their virtual guns all over again... Naturally, planes will always remain my first Loves and I cherish the fond memories, but for some reason, I can't stop looking forward instead of staring at the past, wondering "what if?". Which is probably the reason why I always enjoyed taking off rather than landing. To me, it would be like taking back my Ex. Nevertheless, I understand that nostalgy can have soothing effects if used carefully and parsimoniously.

A little painting that is totally outside the box for me... I've been asked many times why I don't paint Business Aircraft while I work for the European Business Aviation Association. Well the answer is simple: I paint to change my mind, when I'm off duty, I re-invent a world that doesn't exist, because I couldn't survive without colours and I draw my strength in light. But hey! Dragonflies and a seahorse aren't exactly what should inspire me at work, so I took it upon myself to redecorate my office in a proper manner.
Pouring Blue and Green
25 cm X 25 cm X 0,3 cm
Canvas Board / Acrylic
A nice day during the spring, when the young green leaves nicely melt into the perfect white clouds and the deep blue skies. The light calls you outside and all at a sudden, you find yourself bathed in paintings. Too much fun with this dirty liquid technique, which found me spraying WD-40 onto my canvas, waiting for bubbles and silicone cells to form in the most unexpected places. Magic moments, when art creates itself, without the Artist's consent.

New techniques always fascinate me... I usually look at other Artists and stare in awe how easily they master their own stuff. Although I am not fooled by the heavily edited videos, I find it interesting to try for myself, to feel if I'd like to develop it... or not. I also think the tools are just as important as the person who handles them. My inexpensive glue gun is absolutely fine for random repairs and other gluing jobs, but when it comes to precision, this is quite another story. I will try again, with different tools or media.
