Is this the ghost ship of my ancestor, the French King's corsair who haunts my daydreams?

Rumour has it that he would attack and board British vessels to bring the booty back to the King of France...

Naughty, naughty, naughty...

Refreshing bubbling blue water and simplistic lines.

This is all I need in the middle of the summer.

This is my own version of the Titanic.

Some lost wreck engulfed in a mossy pond, surrounded by a couple of exotic fishes.

How romantic...

I can hear the water gently tapping on the sides of the boat and the gondolier, behind me, paddling and singing "O Sole Mio"...

Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

My Hubby's hometown.

Although I visited Calgary during the month of June, I felt like using autumn tones. The maple leafs are supposed to be red and although I did not wish to make it look like their well-known flag, this is still the main shade on this painting.

Along with the Center Street Bridge and the Calgary Tower, I thought it would feature a nice wink and a nod to my Sweets' favourite city.

Testing, testing, testing...

Playing with paste, ground rice and textured painting, trying shapes and lines...

Eventually, I found this painting so crowded that I called it "Circus" and it won't come as a surprise to you if I tell you that each and every time I look at it, this typical little music plays in my head...

Frankly, I sometimes wonder how I came up with this one!

I believe I just used this background to test a few things and exercise my toothpicks and dotting tools method.

This being said, I love Cashmere patterns and I seriously consider making another painting, more focused on these renowned, popular and intricated convolutions...

Oh so green and blue!

This is what I wanted. Very green and very blue.

Not sure if I used my brains when I painted this one. I dislike the grass in the foreground.

Nevertheless, dotting tools are still on my bucket list for another elaborated, extremely detailed fantasy.

Gosh I miss this painting! I enjoyed making it and had so much fun playing with the rice paste.

Although I didn't know back then that it would shrink and distort my canvas, I wish I still had it. I would fix the corners and repair the torn fabric.

Meanwhile, my son, who also liked the painting, begged to have it as he wanted to offer it to one of his friends.

Not sure where the friend is nor if he kept the painting, but if he did and does not like it anymore, I'd be interested to get it back and fix it!

Testing structured painting, mixing colours with ground rice...

So this is what happens when I am not happy, resulting in growing dark clouds above my head.
